The 2010 Music in the Park summer concert series was a huge success…the best ever! An all time record high  concert attendee count reached a total of 13,000 for the entire season!

Come join us at Sylvester State Park to hear the Tacoma Concert Band. The band performs a wide range of musical styles including works of varied composers as J.S.Bach, Alfred Reed, Richard Wagner and John Philip Sousa, as well as other great composers past and present.

August 6th from 7:00-8:30 pm this Los Angeles-based accapella group is respected worldwide as a cutting edge trailblazer in the realm of vocal music. “Mesmerized audiences buzz from the thrill of m-pact’s vocal acrobatics, innovative orchestrations, and commanding yet authentic stage presence. Unknowing ears of all ages come expecting entertainment but leave enriched from an indescribable experience.”

at Sylvester State Park

August 4th from 7:00-8:00 pm this Seattle-based band performs a vibrant and eclectic blend of music from Brazil and the Caribbean. Sambatuque (Samba-too-kie) draws upon the rich and subtle beauty of Brazilian harmonies and the powerful rhythms of Brazil & Cuba to create a blend that is uplifting & infectious! Get your dancing shoes on for this one!

7 on 7 band is no stranger to Music in the Park, playing their jazz sounds back in 2008. This band is a group of “experienced musicians from the Olympia area whose enthusiasm  for playing music and having fun, combined with a desire to play swing and jump blues, led to create some of the toe-tappingest can’t-sit-down music around.” Their music appeals to all ages. Come listen to 7 on 7 band July 28, 7:00 pm at Sylvester State Park.

This is the third of nine FREE concerts put on by the Olympia Downtown Association’s Music in the Park summer concert series. The 198^th Army Band consists of three major groups: the concert band (playing everything from Sousa marches to War era classics to Stevie Wonder charts) the rock band (playing rock classics) and the brass quintet (playing everything from classical to show music to jazz).

Ian McFeron Band is no stranger to Music in the Park. In 2006, they were the opening act for the concert at the Port Plaza. This successful acoustic folk rock group will please all ages.

The Blue Ringer band starts off the summer concert series July 7th, 7:00 pm at Sylvester State Park.
